Description

China's Medog dam construction: 60 gigawatts of engineering built in the deepest canyon on Earth — triple the power of Three Gorges. The Yarlung Tsangpo drops 2,000 metres in 50 kilometres. At the bottom of that drop, engineers are building five cascade dams, four 20-kilometre tunnels bored through a 7,782-metre Himalayan mountain, and 60 turbines rated at 1,000 megawatts each. Total construction cost: $167 billion. Completion: 2033. This documentary is a full engineering construction visualization of the Medog Hydropower Station — every phase built step by step, from the first road blasted into the Himalayas to the 800kV transmission lines leaving the canyon heading east. What's in this video: How engineers built a road into one of Earth's most inaccessible construction sites How the Yarlung Tsangpo was diverted so engineers could build five dams in its dry riverbed How four 14-metre TBMs were built in 300 pieces and bored 20km each through solid Himalayan granite How sixty 1,000MW turbines were engineered in Harbin and installed underground in the canyon Subscribe to NEXTGEN MANUFACTURING to understand the incredible machines, blueprints, and megaprojects that built our world. #MedogDam #Megaprojects #HowItsMade #China #FactoryTour #Engineering #HydraulicEngineering #Construction #InsideTheFactory #ChinaEngineering #Dam #FullProcess #Aviation #Trending ⚠️ IMPORTANT: ABOUT THIS VIDEO ------------------------------------------------------------------- This is an educational documentary based on open-source public information.
