Description

Where does the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) stand today compared to the glory days of its golden era, the 'Infinity Saga'? Marvel movies, which once turned theaters into festival grounds, have now pushed fans into a state where they would be satisfied if a film merely achieved half of its former quality. With the upcoming films Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars introducing Doctor Doom, will Marvel be able to reclaim its lost glory? Or will this end up as another failure? In this video, we deeply analyze the real causes behind the crisis MCU is facing, examining both economic and psychological factors. Let's look back at 2008. Financially broke and forced to sell their flagship characters like Spider-Man and the X-Men to other studios, Marvel took a massive gamble with the remaining characters they had left. They cast Robert Downey Jr., a actor labeled in boardrooms as someone nobody wanted, and made Iron Man. From that single decision, the greatest cinematic universe in film history was born. The truth is that the raw feeling of building an Arc Reactor inside a cave is something that today’s multi-million-dollar CGI simply cannot deliver. Over the next 11 years, the empire built across 22 films reached its culmination with 2019's Avengers: Endgame. It wasn't just a movie; it was the emotion of a generation. The hype when Captain America lifted Mjolnir, or when he said "Avengers Assemble," is something that can never be replicated. It was the ultimate fulfillment of a decade-long promise. So, what happened to Marvel after the Infinity Saga? Many believe a few bad movies caused this decline. But the real problem began with the arrival of the streaming platform Disney+. To retain monthly subscribers, they needed a continuous flow of content, and they used Marvel to fuel it. Marvel, which once prioritized quality over quantity, was forced to pump out movies and series at an unprecedented pace. While they released just 50 hours of content in the 12 years prior to Endgame, they churned out 127 hours in the 6 years that followed—double the output in half the time! Introducing numerous new characters like Shang-Chi, the Eternals, Ms. Marvel, and Moon Knight without taking enough time to build them up led to audience fatigue. Rushed screenplays and terrible VFX accelerated Marvel's downfall. Projects like Eternals, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, and Secret Invasion turned out to be major disappointments. Alongside this, another topic that sparked widespread debate online was Marvel's shift toward "Woke Culture." There is nothing wrong with introducing feminism or social messages, but attempting to forcefully cram them in without a strong story or solid screenplay left fans disappointed. Audiences were asking for good writing, not preaching. This is why projects like She-Hulk and The Marvels faced heavy criticism. In the midst of all this, Jonathan Majors—the actor cast as Marvel's next big villain, Kang—was dropped due to personal legal issues. As a result, Marvel had to completely abandon their major project, The Kang Dynasty. Marvel's ultimate rescue mission out of this massive crisis was unveiled at San Diego Comic-Con: they brought back the legendary Robert Downey Jr., the man who originally catapulted Marvel to global stardom. But not as Tony Stark or Iron Man—rather, as Doctor Doom! They also brought back the Russo Brothers for a massive paycheck. This marks one of the biggest moves in Marvel history. "Expect disappointment, and you will never be disappointed." For more detailed cinematic analyses and discussions, make sure to subscribe to the channel. Will Doomsday save Marvel?
