Description
My normal grocery rhythm is about $50 a week. But when money gets tight, I use this $40 emergency grocery system.
This is the plan I use when the electric bill hits early, the check is still days away, or life squeezes the budget harder than usual.
At 52, I have learned that the worst time to make grocery decisions is when I am hungry, stressed, and standing in the store. So I built a $40 tight-week system before I needed it. This is not a fancy meal plan. It is not deprivation. It is a calm, practical fallback built around oats, eggs, rice, beans, potatoes, simple protein, frozen vegetables, and one anchor pot that carries the week.
