The FIRST Dinosaurs in the Fossil Record…

Dinosaurs lived on planet Earth for a staggering one hundred and seventy-five million years, give or take. They evolved from a successful lineage of archosaurs in the Late Triassic Period, and would go on to truly dominate the world. For perspective, our species, Homo sapiens, has only been around for a mere three hundred thousand years. Throughout the Mesozoic Era, dinosaurs took on all kinds of shapes and sizes, but all of them originated from one common Triassic ancestor. While we don't know exactly what that common ancestor was, we do know many species of dinosaur that would have been amongst the first to evolve - and today, we'll be meeting them. Join us as we travel far into the depths of time to encounter some of the very earliest dinosaurs to appear in the fossil record...
