The Decline of The Scorpion

The Scorpion was once one of Spider-Man's most dangerous enemies. Created to be stronger, faster, and more ruthless than the Web-Slinger, Mac Gargan quickly established himself as one of Marvel's greatest villains. So... what happened? Throughout the 1990s, Marvel gave Scorpion new tails, new suits, new creators, new missions, and countless opportunities to reclaim his former glory. But somewhere along the way, one of Spider-Man's most feared villains slowly became a one-dimensional punching bag. Or did he? Join me as we follow Mac Gargan through an entire decade of comic book history, uncovering the hidden gems buried inside his decline, the stories that almost reinvented him, and the creative decisions that ultimately led Marvel to make one of the boldest character changes in Spider-Man history. Featuring comics by David Michelinie, Todd McFarlane, Erik Larsen, Mark Bagley, Mark Millar, Terry Dodson, and more, this is the complete story of the Scorpion's decline... and why something had to change. 🦂 Comics covered include: • Avengers 222 • Amazing Spider-Man Annual 18 • Amazing Spider-Man 318–319, 342, 370 and 1 (Vol. 2) • Alpha Flight 79–80 • Web of Spider-Man 107–108 • Deathlok 31 • The Shroud (1994) 1–4 • Spectacular Spider-Man 215–216 • Spider-Man Unlimited 1, 13 and 22 • Marvel Knights Spider-Man 👍 If you enjoy deep dives into comic book history, forgotten storylines, character evolutions, and Marvel retrospectives, be sure to LIKE, SUBSCRIBE, and join the Hausstages for more videos every week! #SpiderMan #Scorpion #MarvelComics #Venom #ComicBooks #Marvel #ToddMcFarlane #90sComics #HaussmannComics #comichistory
