Corn Drying Yard, Unloading Harvested Corn for Sun Drying

This scene shows corn being unloaded in the open-air drying yard after the corn harvest season. The tipping truck slowly lifts the cargo box, piles of golden corn cobs slide down onto the ground, spreading out across the flat open area. Several farm workers cooperate together, guiding the unloading process and arranging the corn to spread evenly for full sunlight exposure. Sun drying is a traditional yet essential step for corn storage, reducing the moisture content of corn cobs so they won’t go moldy during long-term storage. A large amount of corn needs to be laid thin to get enough sun and air flow, this process helps farmers preserve the grain quality and prevent spoilage. Every pile of golden corn represents the hard work of the whole growing season. After fully dried, the corn will go through threshing and further processing.
