Why Did Shukracharya Turn Against the Gods? Watch this Video Before watching Mahakali

The teaser for PVCU's next big film "Mahakali — Shukracharya's War Cry" just dropped, and Akshaye Khanna's unrecognizable look as the Asura Guru has everyone talking. But who was Shukracharya really — and why does Hindu mythology remember him as the guide of the "losing side"? In this video, we go deep into the complete, chronological story of Shukracharya — from his birth as Ushanas, the heartbreaking betrayal at his own guru's ashram, the brutal killing of his mother Kavyamata that turned him against the Devas forever, his 5000-year tapasya to Lord Shiva for the Mrita Sanjeevani Vidya (the secret of reviving the dead), the strange story of how he got swallowed by Shiva and reborn with the name "Shukra," the Kacha-Devayani saga, the Yayati curse, and how he sacrificed an eye to protect Raja Bali from Vamana avatar. We also cover the demon at the heart of the Mahakali trailer — Raktabeej, whose every drop of blood created a new demon — and the three different mythological versions of how Maa Kali's rage was finally calmed after the battle. If you've only seen Shukracharya as a "villain," this video will completely change how you see him. 🔔 Subscribe for more deep-dive explainers. 💬 Let us know in the comments — which version of Maa Kali's rage story did you already know? #Mahakali #Shukracharya #PVCU #Raktabeej #MaaKali #HinduMythology #AkshayeKhanna #HanuMan
