No humans or animals were harmed during the creation of these videos. ──────────────────────── ABOUT THIS FILM On September 26, 1983, a Soviet early warning satellite reported five American missiles. One officer, Stanislav Petrov, called it a false alarm. He was right, and the world never knew. Forty-five years later, to the day, the screen is not wrong. 2:13 PM Eastern. A radar station in Greenland sees one track coming over the North Pole. The blast doors of Cheyenne Mountain close. Sixty feet under the Montana prairie, two missile officers open the red safe and take out their launch keys. F-22s scramble out of Anchorage, B-52 bombers roll at Minot, and the President is rushed from the White House to Air Force One. The interceptors launch from Fort Greely. A Navy destroyer fires off the coast of Washington. They miss. Times Square goes silent. Thousands walk out of Manhattan across the Brooklyn Bridge. The country moves from DEFCON 5 to DEFCON 1 in thirty-one minutes, and two warheads are inbound: Seattle and New York. The order is given. The codes reach the capsule. Two keys. One word. No narrator. No explanation. Only the people who were there, minute by minute, until the last order. The origin of the missiles is never named. Petrov's false alarm of 1983 is real; everything after it is fiction, an AI disaster film about how close the world has always been. A cinematic AI film made with Seedance 2.5 on Higgsfield: the faces, the dialogue and the impact are Seedance 2.5, edited by hand in DaVinci Resolve. Uploaded in 4K.
