Description

What does North America sound like? In this video, I transformed the borders and national flags of North American countries into unique visual waveforms and synthetic sounds! Every country has a different shape, and every flag has its own patterns. But what happens when those shapes and patterns are converted into sound? From the massive borders of Canada and the United States to Mexico, Greenland, and the countries of Central America and the Caribbean, each geographic outline creates a completely different waveform and sound. First, each country's border is traced across the map, transforming its geographic shape into a visual waveform. Then its national flag is traced, turning its stripes, stars, colors, and symbols into another unique sound. Some sound surprisingly smooth. Others are chaotic, strange, and completely unexpected! Watch until the end to discover how different countries sound. Which North American country sounded the best? Which one surprised you the most? Let me know in the comments! #NorthAmerica #DataSonification #FlagSonification #Geography #WorldFlags #CreativeCoding #MapAnimation #ShapesAsWaves #OddlySatisfying #SoundVisualization #CountryBorders #Flags #SoundDesign #CodingArt
