Description
BREAKING: SENATOR ALI NDUME EXPOSES DEEP APC INTERNAL TENSIONS AHEAD OF 2027! In an exclusive ARISE TV Primetime interview with Charles Aniagolu, the APC senator representing Borno South delivers striking revelations about President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima's warning, party hypocrisy, Senate leadership disputes, insecurity, fuel subsidy removal and corruption in Nigeria.
Ndume agrees with Shettima that the APC faces greater dangers from internal divisions than from opposition figures Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi. He accuses some APC politicians of pretending to support Tinubu publicly while undermining him privately, describing party loyalty as riddled with hypocrisy. He also criticises personality-driven politics across the APC and opposition, arguing that Nigerians deserve serious policy debates instead of endless battles over Tinubu and Atiku.
On governance, Ndume highlights the economic hardship caused by fuel subsidy removal and questions government spending priorities. However, he credits Tinubu's administration with increased security investment, improved remuneration for security personnel and better farming access in parts of Borno South, while acknowledging that insecurity remains unresolved.
The interview takes a dramatic turn over the 11th National Assembly as Ndume rejects an apparent Senate leadership continuity endorsement, calling it unconstitutional and citing Sections 50–52 of Nigeria's Constitution. He questions the procedure, the small number of senators reportedly present and the Senate President presiding over a matter affecting his own position. Ndume also hints at political manoeuvring surrounding future Senate leadership.
Declaring his intention to seek another Senate term, Ndume defends legislative experience and highlights his claimed contributions to the North East Development Commission, Federal College of Agriculture in Shani, Nigerian Army University, Federal College of Education and a proposed Federal Medical Centre in Gwoza. He promises continued constituency projects, legislative oversight and accountability.
On corruption, Ndume advocates an Unexplained Wealth Act requiring public officials and others to account for assets disproportionate to their legitimate earnings. He argues that stronger legislation is needed to confront suspicious wealth, illicit enrichment and weaknesses in Nigeria's anti-corruption framework.
Watch this ARISE TV interview for Ndume's comments on APC divisions, Tinubu's leadership, Shettima's warning, the 2027 elections, Senate President Godswill Akpabio's leadership, Borno insecurity, economic hardship and anti-corruption reforms.
