Description

My fiancée asked me to skip Thanksgiving because her ex was coming home from overseas, and she thought having both of us there would make things “uncomfortable.” I agreed because I trusted her. But what happened that weekend had nothing to do with cheating, jealousy, or her choosing another man. Her ex came home with a revelation nobody expected—and somehow, meeting him made me question the family I was about to marry into. Three days later, I called off the wedding. Now my ex-fiancée says I threw away four years over one bad decision. Her family says this was something we could have worked through. But I can’t stop wondering: If the person you’re marrying won’t stand up for you when it’s uncomfortable, what happens after the wedding? AITA for canceling my wedding after my fiancée asked me to skip Thanksgiving because her ex was coming?
