Description

Archaeologists examined the teeth of 428 of these people. Not one had a single cavity. They were the Yamnaya, herders north of the Black Sea around 3000 BC, and they almost never ate bread. Meat, milk, yogurt, cheese and soup made from wild seeds. They were very tall and heavily built. Metal was rare, and it meant rank. Fewer than one grave in twenty holds a copper dagger or axe. One man on the Volga was buried with a solid copper club, 750 grams and almost half a metre long. The heaviest metal object this culture ever left behind. Home was a wagon, covered with reed mats painted in red, white and black stripes. When he died, they laid him on his back facing east, with red ochre at his head, hips and feet. Sometimes they set a wheel from his wagon at each corner of the grave. The grave became the wagon. 🎬 Made on musayko.com, a platform I built for creators.
