Description
Discover the face of one of ancient Egypt’s most remarkable pharaohs through AI facial reconstruction, digital restoration, and realistic 3D visualization. This documentary-style AI reconstruction brings Seti I, one of the most powerful rulers of Egypt’s New Kingdom, into a new visual perspective more than 3,000 years after his death.
Seti I reigned from approximately 1290 to 1279 BCE during Egypt’s 19th Dynasty. He was the father of Ramesses II, one of ancient Egypt’s most celebrated pharaohs, and helped strengthen Egypt’s military power, restore royal authority, and expand its influence across the ancient Near East.
His reign is remembered for military campaigns, monumental architecture, and remarkable artistic achievements. The magnificent Temple of Seti I at Abydos, dedicated to several Egyptian gods and royal ancestors, remains one of the finest examples of New Kingdom temple art. His tomb, KV17, in the Valley of the Kings is renowned for its elaborate decorations and beautifully preserved religious scenes.
Seti I’s mummy is particularly fascinating because of its remarkable preservation. His remains were recovered in 1881 from the Deir el-Bahari royal cache, known as DB320, where ancient Egyptian priests had moved royal mummies to protect them from tomb robbers. The mummy provides valuable evidence of ancient Egyptian embalming techniques and royal funerary traditions.
Using AI facial reconstruction, realistic facial modeling, digital restoration, historical reconstruction, and cinematic 3D visualization, this project explores how Seti I may have appeared during his lifetime. Although his mummy preserves important physical evidence, this AI-generated interpretation is not an exact photograph or definitive representation of his original appearance.
