Description

Queen Nefertiti’s tomb has never been found. Now a new study says the answer may be sitting just beyond the painted walls of Tutankhamun’s tomb. In September 2026, a team led by former Egyptian antiquities minister Mamdouh Eldamaty of Ain Shams University, with Nicholas Reeves, George Ballard, and Abbas Mohamed Abbas, published a review of ground-penetrating radar, microgravity surveys (more than 1,200 measurements), and earlier electrical-resistivity data around KV62. Nature reported the findings on 17 September 2026. The team says the combined data points to a hidden complex of corridors and rooms, including a rubble-filled corridor about two metres wide, with the possible network stretching roughly 25 to 30 metres north of the burial chamber. Why Nefertiti? In 2015, Nicholas Reeves proposed that KV62 was once part of a larger tomb built for someone else, and named Nefertiti, Tutankhamun’s stepmother, as the candidate. In 2018 an Italian radar team found no evidence of hidden rooms, which is why this new study is controversial. Eldamaty says the evidence suggests at least one further chamber, and that even if it isn’t Nefertiti’s, it points to the Amarna royal family’s circle. What happens next: the team has applied to Egypt’s Supreme Council of Antiquities to drill holes 7 to 8 centimetres wide and send in miniature camera vehicles, possibly as early as November 2026 if approved. ⚠️ What the evidence does NOT show: no chamber has been confirmed, no burial has been found, and nothing in the data links these anomalies to Nefertiti. We’ll update as findings develop. 👇 Do you think Nefertiti is behind that wall, or is this another false signal? 📚 Sources: Nature (17 Sept 2026); Occasional Papers of the Amarna Royal Tombs Project No. 8 (Eldamaty, Abbas, Ballard & Reeves) #Nefertiti #Tutankhamun #KingTut #AncientEgypt #Egyptology #ValleyOfTheKings #KV62 #Archaeology #HiddenChamber #AncientMysteries ───────────────────────────── 🔑 KEYWORDS: nefertiti tomb, nefertiti burial, king tut tomb, tutankhamun hidden chamber, kv62, valley of the kings, nicholas reeves, mamdouh eldamaty, ground penetrating radar, microgravity survey, amarna royal tombs project, egyptian archaeology, egyptology, hidden chamber discovery, ancient egypt mystery, egypt discovery 2026, archaeology news, tutankhamun tomb secrets, nefertiti lost tomb ───────────────────────────── © Primitive Minds — All rights reserved.
