DNA Just Revealed the Hidden Origins of the Arabs The traditional story of Arab origins is one of the most carefully preserved in human history. Traced through genealogy, written into religious texts, embedded in the very language. Arabs come from Arabia. That answer has never been seriously questioned — until ancient DNA made it possible to look underneath it. What scientists found was not a correction to the traditional story. It was a completely different picture that makes the traditional story look like a single brushstroke on a canvas the size of a continent. In this video, we break down what the genetic evidence actually shows: four distinct ancestral layers built up over tens of thousands of years — ancient Arabian hunter-gatherers who were among the earliest modern humans to leave Africa, Levantine Neolithic farmers who spread southward from the Fertile Crescent, East African herding communities whose DNA was integrated into the Arabian gene pool during the Bronze Age, and the transformative demographic effects of the Islamic conquests.
