Description
In the spring of 2025, General Motors told the owners of almost six hundred thousand trucks and SUVs that their six point two liter V8 could fail without warning, even at highway speed. For most of those owners, the fix was a switch to thicker oil and a new oil cap. The worst engines were pulled out of the trucks and replaced with brand new ones. But on August twentieth, 2026, federal safety investigators revealed that twenty-six of those brand new replacement engines had failed too. So what exactly did the recall fix?
