Gix: The Forgotten Monster of Phyrexia

Gix is one of the oldest and most important villains in Magic: The Gathering. A former human transformed into a horrifying Phyrexian demon who became one of Yawgmoth's greatest generals... LONG before Elesh Norn and the Praetors were terrorizing the Multiverse. When it comes to Gix spreading Phyrexia's army across Dominaria, nobody does it better than the cult having, machine nightmare Gix himself. In this MTG lore guide, we explore Gix's complete history, from his surprisingly human origins during the final days of the Thran to his transformation under Yawgmoth and eventual rise as a Phyrexian praetor. We'll follow his role in the Brothers' War, his manipulation of Mishra, the Brotherhood of Gix, and his centuries-long vendetta against Urza.
