Atraxa Would Have Been PERFECT... Except For One Fatal Flaw

Atraxa is one of the most iconic Warriors of New Phyrexia. A angel captured, corrupted, and transformed into the ultimate symbol of Phyrexian perfection. Blessed by four of New Phyrexia's five Praetors, Atraxa became Elesh Norn's terrifying champion, spreading the glory of Phyrexia wherever the Machine Orthodoxy demanded. And somehow, this horrifying four-armed nightmare angel became one of the most popular Commanders in Magic history. In this Magic: The Gathering lore guide, we explore Atraxa's complete history, from the Mirran resistance and her original stand against the Phyrexians to her capture and horrifying transformation at the hands of Elesh Norn, Jin-Gitaxias, Sheoldred, and Vorinclex. Along the way, we'll examine why Urabrask refused to participate in her creation, how Atraxa became one of Elesh Norn's most important servants, and what her existence tells us about the deeply dysfunctional family that was New Phyrexia's five Praetors.
