The Ending of Voltron (1984)… Nobody Talks About | What Really Happened to the Lion Force? For anyone who grew up in the 80s and 90s, Voltron is unforgettable. Five robot lions, one giant warrior, and an ending that never actually aired. In this complete documentary, we reveal the true story of Voltron: Defender of the Universe — from its secret Japanese origin as Beast King GoLion, through the World Events Productions adaptation in St. Louis, to the first episode, “Space Explorers Captured,” on September 10, 1984, the first formation in “The Missing Key,” the rise of Voltron as the top-rated syndicated children’s show of 1984 and 1985, the controversial switch to Vehicle Voltron from Armored Fleet Dairugger XV, and the real final story, “Fleet of Doom,” in 1986. You will learn why Lion Voltron disappeared after November 1985, why Vehicle Voltron divided the playground, why the Gladiator Voltron project never became a series, and why Toei Animation and World Events Productions never produced a true final episode for Keith, Lance, Pidge, Hunk, Princess Allura, King Zarkon, Prince Lotor, and the Witch Haggar.
