Stalker Was G.I. Joe's Most Loyal Soldier — So Why Abandon Him?

Stalker was G.I. Joe's most loyal soldier, so why did the team leave him behind? Here is the truth from the original comics. While the animated series suggested the team never lost anyone, the G.I. Joe comics told a much harsher story. We examine the mission that went wrong in issue number 61, where Stalker G.I. Joe was captured and sentenced to multiple life terms after a failed rescue operation. This narrative explores the complex backstory that the show never touched, focusing on the loyalty Stalker showed his unit and the silence he received in return. By looking back at the Marvel Comics run from July 1987, we see how the darker tone of the print stories contrasted with the polished Saturday morning 80s cartoons.
