Gemini 4 Argon Explained: Better Than Claude and GPT-6?

Google just released Gemini 4, and the first model is called Argon. Google says it beats GPT-6 and Claude. So I read the launch post, the model card, the safety report and the first independent tests. Out of 19 benchmarks, Argon wins or ties 14 and loses 5, and those five say a lot about who it's really for. Here's what's actually new, the numbers (honestly), what it costs, who can use it right now, and the one line in Google's own safety report you should know about.
