He Bought This Sierra Cosworth at 6 Months Old — 39 Years Later He Still Has It

n this episode of Midweek Motors from Classic Car Stories, Adam Poulton meets the owner of a remarkable Ford Sierra RS Cosworth with a story stretching right back to the 1980s. While working for Perrys in Finchley, he had the opportunity to buy the six-month-old Cosworth from the chairman of the dealership. The price was £16,000 — a considerable amount of money at the time — but he took the plunge. That was 39 years ago. Today, remarkably, the same Sierra RS Cosworth is still his. With its unmistakable front end, legendary turbocharged performance and that enormous whale-tail spoiler, the Sierra Cosworth became one of the defining performance Fords of its generation. But this isn't simply the story of an iconic Ford. It's the story of one man and the car he bought nearly four decades ago — and never let go.
