Description

Lazarus was already dead when the message reached Jesus. Deep Made Simple unpacks the one word John used to tie the two-day delay directly to love, and why that word changes everything about how you read unanswered prayer. Most people read John 11 and feel the tension between love and waiting, as if those two things are pulling against each other. John didn't write it that way. He set them side by side with a single conjunction and meant something by it. By the time the stone was rolled away, the crowd watching already knew the answer. The tears came before the miracle, and the tears were the point. This study walks through every layer of the chapter, the geography of danger that made going back to Bethany a death wish, the Greek words behind Jesus' emotion at the grave, Martha's roadside confession that nearly matches the sentence John wrote his whole Gospel to produce, and the two tombs that John sets side by side at the end of the book. One man came out still wrapped. The other left the grave clothes behind. If you have ever prayed the sisters' prayer and buried the person anyway, this chapter does not hand you a neat reason. But it shows you a Savior who stood at that same grave and wept, knowing exactly what He was about to do. 📖 KEY VERSE "I am the resurrection and the life.
