This Horror Movie Has Been Trapped on DVD for DECADES… Not Anymore!

A forgotten ’80s horror gem is finally getting a second life! Released in 1988, WATCHERS brought together Corey Haim, Michael Ironside, and a terrifying experiment gone wrong in a sci-fi horror thriller based on Dean R. Koontz’s bestselling novel. Despite its wild premise, the movie never became the big theatrical hit you might have expected. Over the years, it faded into cult-movie territory, with its U.S. physical-media history largely stuck on an out-of-print DVD double feature. Now, Toy Robot Video is bringing Watchers back to Blu-ray, giving horror fans and physical-media collectors another chance to revisit this overlooked slice of late-’80s genre cinema! In this video, we’re looking back at the movie, its history, its place in the ’80s horror landscape, and why releases like this are so exciting for collectors who love seeing forgotten movies get a second chance. Are you a fan of Watchers? Did you grow up with the VHS or DVD, or will this be your first time checking it out?
