Description

April 14, 1912. Wayne lands aboard the R.M.S. Titanic, hours before disaster, and meets the man the watch sent him to find: Joseph Laroche. THE REAL HISTORY Joseph Philippe Lemercier Laroche was born in Cap-Haïtien, Haiti, in 1886. He studied engineering in France, but racial discrimination kept firms from hiring him. In 1912 he decided to take his family home to Haiti: his wife Juliette, who was pregnant, and their daughters Simonne and Louise. They boarded the Titanic at Cherbourg in second class. Joseph was the only known Black passenger aboard. Wayne is fictional. Joseph, Juliette, Simonne, Louise, and the ship's band were real. Some truths were never meant to be forgotten.
