Description

https://www.patreon.com/cw/Squampopulous In the 2014 Sci Fi Edge of Tomorrow, Private William Cage is the antithesis of everything we want to see in a hero. He is weak, selfish, scared, and perfect. Wait, perfect? Yes. From a writing standpoint, he is. Starting him as far as possible from a hero makes him the perfect candidate to inevitably become a hero. This is because it creates a clear opportunity to showcase change. And if there’s one thing that makes a story work, it’s change. But let’s not get ahead of ourselves. If we want to write a cowardly hero, we can’t overlook the first step, writing a coward.
