Description

This one was requested. After the full march version - brass, snare, male chorus, and the 1989 parade footage - several people asked what the piece sounds like without any of that. So here it is Grand piano, violin and acoustic guitar. Dry room, close-miked, no reverb, strict march timing throughout. No brass, no ensemble, no improvisation. Teike's melody exactly as written, with nothing to hide behind. Instrumental. No vocals. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 🎺 THE FULL STORY The history of the march - Carl Teike, the bandmaster in Ulm who told him to put it in the stove, and what happened to the piece afterwards — is in the full march version here: ▶️ Alte Kameraden - Full March with English translation: https://youtu.be/z3IFUTxkyss ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ ⚠️ EDUCATIONAL & HISTORICAL DISCLAIMER "Alte Kameraden" was composed in 1889, during the German Empire, and predates both German dictatorships and both post-war German states.
