Description
Humanoid robots are moving out of tech demonstrations and into places that used to belong almost entirely to people.
Amazon has reportedly been preparing tests involving humanoid robots for package delivery. Other machines are already being demonstrated for factory work, sorting, household chores, commercial services and increasingly complex physical tasks.
And then the conversation gets more serious.
The U.S. Department of Homeland Security has tested robotic quadrupeds for Southwest border missions, raising much bigger questions about where Americans are comfortable using autonomous machines for surveillance and security.
In this episode of Everyday Perspective, host Kayla looks at what is actually happening, what still looks more like hype, and which parts of this technology could reach ordinary life first.
Some of these machines are genuinely impressive.
A robot doing your laundry, carrying groceries or helping around the house could become something people actively want.
A robot replacing workers, walking packages to your front door or being used for patrol is a very different conversation.
The technology itself is moving quickly. The harder question is where we decide it belongs.
