Description
A mountain reservoir is rising. The floodgates are jammed. And 12,000 people are evacuating through the valley below.
Emergency engineer James O’Neill has just 60 minutes to restore the dam’s hydraulic system and open the gates before disaster strikes.
The first repair appears to work—but the main gate is mechanically trapped. With the reservoir still climbing and the final evacuation buses approaching a vulnerable bridge, the team discovers one last possibility: a forgotten outlet buried deep inside the original dam.
It was built in 1968.
It hasn’t moved in 30 years.
And now, the entire valley depends on it.
THE LAST FLOODGATE is a cinematic World of Engineering story about emergency engineering, impossible decisions and an old piece of machinery given one final chance to work.
This film is a fictional dramatization created for entertainment. Character sequences were created using AI. Genuine engineering, flood and emergency-response footage is used illustratively and does not depict the fictional people, dam or incident presented in this story.
