Leonardo da Vinci Is Pure Genius

The Virgin of the Rocks was painted by Leonardo da Vinci more than five centuries ago. But just a few years ago, art historian Kelly Grovier revealed a detail that had gone unnoticed all this time. Just above the Virgin Mary's right hand, there is a palm tree. A seemingly innocent plant that Leonardo painted with a purpose very different from what you might imagine. A hidden symbol connected to a discovery he made inside a dark cavern, one that contradicted the Church's teachings about the creation of the world.
