Description
Modern warfare is changing faster than anyone can track.
In Ukraine, a new drone control system may have pushed remote warfare into a new era, allowing operators to control interceptor drones from more than 1,200 miles away. The Sting drone is cheap, fast, partially 3D-printed, and designed to hunt airborne threats at a fraction of the cost of traditional missile systems.
At the same time, satellite images over China suggest the country is expanding massive aircraft production facilities, potentially preparing to build advanced fighters at a pace that could challenge or surpass the United States before the end of the decade.
Russia may also be preparing a new wave of faster, jet-powered attack drones near Ukraine, with launch platforms that appear far larger than what standard Shahed-type drones require. Some of these systems could fly twice as fast as older models, making them harder to intercept and far more dangerous.
And in the Strait of Hormuz, Iranian forces are escalating their campaign at sea, using small armed boats to board and capture commercial vessels while threatening more action against ships leaving without permission.
From AI-guided drones to fighter factories, missile bases, and swarms of small boats, this is what modern conflict looks like now: cheaper weapons, longer reach, faster escalation, and fewer safe zones.
