THE REALITY OF HOMESTEADING | WORKING WITH WHAT THE WEATHER GIVES US

Homesteading is beautiful, rewarding, and sometimes downright challenging. One thing we can never control is the weather—and this year, the rain has certainly reminded us of that! Too much rain can be hard on a garden. Saturated soil can affect the roots, encourage disease and fungal problems, damage plants, and cause produce to split, rot, or become difficult to harvest. Even healthy plants can struggle when they simply can’t dry out. Here, we are currently harvesting at a rapid rate to save and preserve as much of our garden bounty as possible. We’re freezing, drying, preserving, and putting our harvest to good use while we can. The constant rain has created plenty of extra work and some real havoc around the homestead—but even with the challenges, we are incredibly blessed by what our garden continues to provide. Homesteading teaches you to work with what God gives you, adapt when things don’t go according to plan, and be grateful for every harvest—big or small. We may not be harvesting under perfect conditions, but we are harvesting with grateful hearts. #shorts #shortvideo #short #shortsfeed #garden #gardening #homestead #homesteading
