Description
There’s something special about being a homesteader.
When you talk with one of your children who lives out of town and you ask them what they need or want fresh from the homestead for the upcoming visit to their home?, “You can bring anything, we like everything fresh.” …you don’t stop at the grocery store—you head to the pantry, freezer, root cellar, and gardens.
Before long, the vehicle is loaded with naturally grown vegetables picked fresh from the garden, containers of farm fresh eggs, jars of pure raw honey, frozen home-raised chickens, crunchy fermented sauerkraut, and homemade refrigerator dill pickles.
To us, it’s more than just food. It’s months of planting, weeding, preserving, feeding livestock, collecting eggs, caring for honeybees, and trusting God to provide a harvest.
Knowing your children and grandchildren appreciate wholesome, homegrown food makes every early morning and every late evening in the garden worthwhile. It’s a blessing to be able to nourish the people you love with food you raised with your own hands.
Homesteading isn’t just about becoming more self-sufficient—it’s about creating something worth sharing. The greatest reward isn’t filling your own pantry; it’s loading up boxes and coolers so your family can enjoy the fruits of your labor too.
That’s a legacy worth growing. 🌱🥚🍯🥒🐓❤️
