Description

🔧 Everything I learned fixing HVAC for 25 years, in one plain-English book. 📘 THE HVAC SURVIVAL GUIDE - get it here: https://raydutton.com Your furnace quits, and before you pick up the phone, you try a few things yourself. You flip the breaker, pull the front panel off, and do the fix you watched online. That's a smart instinct. But HVAC companies just tell you never to touch it, and they skip the one careful step that matters, so the cheap fix ends up costing more than the night call. I ran no-heat calls for twenty-five years, and a lot of the furnaces I opened had already been through one of these. In this video I go through the five mistakes I saw most: restarting it over and over, touching a new ignitor with bare fingers, static on the control board, working on the gas side, and getting around a safety switch. The last one is the worst, because it gets your heat back on. For each one I show you the careful way to do it, what the shortcut costs, and exactly where your part ends and a tech's begins. And I'll give you the one question to ask before anybody replaces a safety switch. CHAPTERS 0:00 The DIY fix that costs more than the night call 0:31 1. I read every one. I'm Ray Dutton. Keep your cool, and I'll see you in the next one. #furnace #furnacerepair #hvac #diy #heating #homemaintenance #hvactips #carbonmonoxide
