A Father Eating His Baby #history #art

In ancient mythology, Saturn was warned by a dark prophecy: one of his own children would overthrow him and take his throne. Driven by paranoia and fear of losing his crown, he did the unthinkable. Every time his wife gave birth, he snatched the newborn and swallowed it whole. Peter Paul Rubens painted this horrifying moment with raw brutality—a desperate god tearing into his screaming infant's flesh. But the cycle finally broke when his wife secretly hid their youngest son, Zeus, who grew up to destroy his father and free his siblings. 🎨 Painting: Saturn Devouring His Son by Peter Paul Rubens (1636–1638) #MythologyShorts #SaturnDevouringHisSon #ArtHistory #GreekMythology #Rubens #DarkMythology #Shorts
