Description

Long-term food storage doesn’t have to mean Mylar bags, oxygen absorbers, vacuum sealers, buckets and complicated repackaging. In this video, I’m looking at 1 of the 5 types of grocery-store foods you can buy, bring home and put directly onto your storage shelves — no repackaging required. We’ll look at: • Properly packaged nuts in this Shorts Video and in the Long-Form Video I also cover: • Canned foods • Freeze-dried meals • Peanut butter and other nut butters • Shelf-stable dairy products Some of these foods are rotation foods that may give you a few years of storage, while others can potentially last for decades. The goal isn’t to make every food last 20 or 30 years. It’s to understand which foods actually benefit from repackaging — and which ones are better left in the package they came in. If you’re new to emergency food storage and want a simple place to start, these five categories can give you plenty of options without all the extra equipment. What grocery-store food do you store long-term without repackaging? Let me know in the comments.
