Description

2 AM, a one-month-old baby who won't stop crying, and everyone at home has different advice. A large 2017 study from the University of Warwick (UK) combined 28 studies of 8,690 babies and found that about 2 hours of crying a day in the first 6 weeks is normal, and that colic was much less common in Japan and Denmark. The researchers don't say why. But Japanese homes have some calm baby-care habits, and a few of them have science behind them. Please note: this video is for awareness only and is not medical advice. If you are worried about your baby (fever, not feeding, an unusual cry, unusual drowsiness), see a paediatrician. Safe sleep: put your baby on their back, on their own firm flat surface, with no pillows, soft toys or loose blankets.
