𝗠𝘂𝗵𝗼𝗼𝘇𝗶 𝗔𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗞𝗶𝘀𝗮𝘀𝗶 𝗔𝗴𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘀𝘁 𝗖𝗿𝗶𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹𝘀 𝗜𝗻 𝗨𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮 Chief of Defence Forces General Muhoozi Kainerugaba has announced a new operation targeting people involved in killings, robberies and rape in Uganda. In a post on his X account, Muhoozi said the operation, dubbed “Operation Kisasi,” would continue until the targeted criminals were dealt with. He also said authorities would not waste time taking suspects to court, comparing the planned approach to the way the government dealt with the Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA) The Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development has formally gazetted Edward Rukidi Nyabongo I as the new Omukama of Tooro, recognising his succession to the throne with effect from September 29, 2026, the date of his coronation. The notice states that the succession followed “the established cultural norms, customs and traditions of Obukama Bwa Tooro.” PFF Secretary General Ssemujju Nganda has dismissed regime propaganda claiming the party is negotiating with Museveni over Dr. Kizza Besigye’s freedom. He says neither he nor the party has heard of any such negotiations. Museveni claims he has a case against Dr. KB, and since the matter is in court, let the law take its course instead of spreading propaganda. Muhoozi also clarified that the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU) has no problem with pastors in the country, stressing that the organization values order and discipline. Within PLU, there is order. We do not tolerate chaos and disorder, Muhoozi said.
