Description
On Friday, October 16, a fast-moving wildfire ignited in San Clemente, California, and rapidly swept across 465 acres into neighboring San Juan Capistrano. Fueled by dry chaparral and powerful Santa Ana winds that carried embers over long distances, the wind-driven Norte fire damaged or destroyed at least six homes and triggered mandatory evacuation orders for approximately 16,000 residents across both communities.
In this video, viewers will see emergency crews confronting advancing flames in residential neighborhoods, aircraft dropping fire retardant along ridge lines, severe highway closures, and the ongoing multi-front response to wildfires across Southern California.
Global Weather covers natural disasters and extreme weather events as they develop, using sourced reporting and avoiding unsupported speculation.
