Description

Social Security announced your 2027 raise: 3.6%. That percentage is not the money that reaches your bank — and the number that decides what reaches it has not been set yet. It comes in November. For every $1,000 in your check, 3.6% adds about $36. A $1,500 check goes up about $54. Two thousand goes up about $72. Then Medicare takes its share first, and the amount it takes has not been decided. Five things sit between the announcement and your January payment. Two of them you can still change, and one of them has already started. This is education, not tax, legal or financial advice. The Medicare premium for 2027 has not been announced, so every figure for next year in this video is labelled as a projection. In this video: 00:00 The raise is out.
