Description

Could a Roman Legion Beat Medieval Knights? People have argued about this for years, and most of the time nobody agrees on who is actually fighting. So in this video we fix the rules first: an Imperial legion around 100 AD against 5,000 knights from around 1300, on open dry ground with equal numbers. Then we score armour, weapons, training, tactics and supplies, with real sources like Plutarch, Vegetius, Josephus and the battles of Carrhae, Courtrai and Pharsalus. The twist is that the final score doesn't decide the winner. The whole fight comes down to about four seconds at thirty metres, and it has nothing to do with swords or lances. Watch to the end to see who walks off that field, and the one thing that flips the result. Who would you bet on, the legion or the knights?
