Description
🐾 Want a longer, healthier life for your pet — and to support the channel while you're at it? My complete owner's manual is here: https://stevecooperpets.com/
Your dog doesn't think you're a big, hairless dog, it doesn't love you only for the food bowl, and it isn't waiting for you to be the alpha.
So what does it really see when it stops at the door and looks back at you?
In this video I go through the most common myths about how dogs see people and cross them off one at a time. You'll learn why your dog greets your face instead of sniffing you like another dog, what hand-raised wolves still don't do that house dogs do all day, and why your dog steals your socks and sweatshirts when you leave.
We also look at where the old alpha and dominance idea came from, why your dog needs you to be predictable more than powerful, and how it knows you're sad before you say a word, using its hearing, a nose with around 300 million scent receptors, and years of studying your face.
You'll get simple things to try tonight, plus the warning signs that mean a vet visit, not a training fix. You'll also hear about Tess, a lab mix whose little look back at every doorway meant far more than I understood for years.
Subscribe and keep learning your dog's language with me. Every owner who learns it means one more dog finally understood.
