Bible Devotional | When Failure Makes You Feel Unworthy | The Night Peter Failed Jesus | Oct 07 2026

"Broken By failure, Restored By Jesus" : Have you ever failed so badly that you felt unworthy of God’s love or afraid that He could no longer use you? In this powerful Bible character devotional, we look at Peter in Luke 22:61–62 NLT and discover how his painful denial of Jesus became a story of grace, restoration, and renewed purpose. Peter was passionate, outspoken, and deeply devoted to Jesus, yet fear caused him to deny his Lord three times. When the rooster crowed and Jesus looked at Peter, he was overcome with sorrow. But Peter’s failure was not the end of his story. Jesus would later restore him and give him a renewed purpose. This devotional follows a simple journey: Peter’s character → his failure → the lesson → restoration. His story reminds us that our mistakes may be part of our story, but they do not have to define our future. If you have ever struggled with failure, guilt, shame, regret, fear, or feeling unworthy, let Peter’s story encourage you. God’s grace is greater than your worst mistake, and He can restore what failure has broken. Luke 22:61–62 NLT: At that moment the Lord turned and looked at Peter. Suddenly, the Lord’s words flashed through Peter’s mind: “Before the rooster crows tomorrow morning, you will deny three times that you even know me.” And Peter left the courtyard, weeping bitterly.
