Description
At 83 years old, I finally understand something that took me more than 60 years to learn.
For most of my life, I believed happiness was waiting for me somewhere ahead. I thought I would be happy when I made more money, reached a higher position, paid off the house, earned respect, retired, or finally had everything under control.
But every time I reached one goal, another one appeared.
In this deeply personal conversation, I share the lessons I wish someone had told me when I was young — lessons about chasing success, comparing yourself to others, marriage, family, fear, aging, and the dangerous habit of constantly telling yourself, "I'll be happy when..."
I learned that providing for the people you love isn't the same as being present with them. I learned that money can't give you lasting peace. I learned that fear doesn't disappear when your circumstances improve. And most importantly, I learned that you don't have to spend your entire life proving that you're enough.
You are already enough.
If you're over 60, retired, approaching retirement, or simply looking back on the choices you've made in life, I hope this conversation gives you something valuable to think about.
Don't wait for the perfect future to start appreciating the life you have today.
Because the years go by quietly — and one day, you may realize that the life you were waiting for was already happening.
If this message speaks to you, share it with someone who may need to hear it.
What is your "I'll be happy when..."?
