Lion Sons Never Inherit the Pride. Daughters Do

💰 Support the channel: USDT TRC20: TBebXWjFeAJHfArVsJvt8N6Yv5rvn4GXP7 The lion on every coat of arms is a guest. A pride belongs to its lionesses: grandmothers, mothers, daughters and sisters who hold the same stretch of land by the river for generations. The males are outsiders who fight their way in, and the average coalition keeps its pride for about two years before younger males throw it out. This video reads the male lion's contract clause by clause. How young males are driven from home at two to four and survive the nomad years in coalitions, sometimes with strangers who fight like brothers. Why new males kill the cubs, and how lionesses answer with a probation period: months of mating with almost no pregnancies, until it is clear the new males will last. How lionesses count enemy roars before they fight. What a dark mane really signals, what it costs in heat, why the cave lions of Chauvet had none, and why a few lionesses in Botswana grew manes of their own. Plus who really hunts, where the phrase the lion's share comes from, why the famous dawn scene in Ngorongoro Crater is often backwards, lions in ancient Greece, the 891 Asiatic lions of Gir, and what happened to Cecil's cubs. 👍Subscribe for a new wildlife documentary every week. #lion #lions #lioness #lionpride #wildlife #wildlifedocumentary #animalfacts #naturedocumentary #africa #serengeti #bigcats #safari #animalbehavior #asiaticlion #natureeducation
