Tales of Pirandello: Of Life and Love | Questa è la vita | 1954 | Full Movie

An engaging anthology film composed of four distinct and unforgettable episodes, based on the brilliant short stories of legendary author Luigi Pirandello. In the first comedic tale, a stubborn and proud repairman becomes hilariously trapped inside the giant olive oil vat he was hired to fix. The second episode shifts to a more dramatic tone, following the heartbreaking struggles of a young, unmarried mother who is forced to beg just to afford a simple paper fan. The third story brings the eccentric Rosario Chiarchiaro to court, where he paradoxically demands an official "license" for casting the evil eye after being shunned by society. Finally, in the fourth segment, the unbearable and suffocating discomfort of a ridiculously tight tuxedo jacket gives a wedding witness the unexpected courage to stand up to the bride's parents and save the marriage. A masterful blend of comedy, drama, and poignant social commentary that perfectly captures the essence of human nature.
