Description

A Stanford geneticist has looked at the fingertips of a three-fingered hand that grave robbers carried out of a cave in Peru, said one sentence about them, and then said you won't hear from him again until he's ready to talk. The bodies came up out of a cave in the Nazca region around 2015, and the men who found it have never said where it is. Since then they've been seized at customs, raided for at a press conference, shown in glass boxes to Mexico's Congress and called bones and glue by Peru's forensic examiners. An American forensic dentist says some of the big ones are clearly not human. Garry Nolan, the Stanford geneticist whose team once read the genome of the Atacama skeleton, turned down a camera crew, put a price on doing it properly, and nobody paid it. This is what he said about the fingerprints on those hands, why he shut the door after saying it, and why the last time Stanford read a body the papers called alien still follows him.
