Description

The FBI and Justice Department seized seven internet domains tied to hacking infrastructure allegedly used by the China-linked Flax Typhoon operation. The action disrupted two tools known as MicroScan and FishHub, which U.S. officials say were used to scan and, in some cases, compromise critical infrastructure and other networks in the United States and abroad. But taking infrastructure offline does not necessarily eliminate the attackers behind it. In today's Cybersecurity Today, we examine what the FBI disruption actually accomplished, why state-linked cyber operations can rebuild, and what defenders should do now with the newly released indicators and technical information. The key lesson is simple: Disruption creates friction. But defenders still have to hunt for evidence of earlier compromise. Stay informed. Stay skeptical. And stay secure. #Cybersecurity, #FBI, #FlaxTyphoon, #ChinaCyber, #CriticalInfrastructure, #CyberSecurityNews, #InfoSec, QPWUSZR57H3TSMFK
