The ONLY RECAP You NEED Before Avengers Doomsday

The ONLY RECAP You NEED Before Avengers Doomsday. On December 18, 2023, Jonathan Majors was convicted on two misdemeanor counts, one of assault and one of harassment, and Marvel cut ties with him within hours of the verdict. That single moment blew a hole straight through Marvel's plans, because Kang wasn't just a villain, he was supposed to be the connective tissue for the entire Multiverse Saga. Basically the next Thanos-level threat. He'd already shown up as He Who Remains in Loki, then as the Conqueror himself in Quantumania, with a post-credits scene teasing an entire council of Kang variants preparing for war. The next Avengers film was already titled The Kang Dynasty, built around him from the ground up. Suddenly, Marvel had a finished multiverse story with no one left to finish it. So around San Diego Comic-Con in July 2024, Marvel made the pivot official. The Kang Dynasty was gone. In its place, Avengers Doomsday, with Robert Downey Jr. stepping in, not as Tony Stark, but as a brand new character entirely, Victor von Doom. Same actor, same charisma, completely different man. This video covers how Doctor Doom replaced Kang in the Multiverse Saga and why Avengers Doomsday shares its December 18, 2026 release date with Dune Part Three. It explains the three colliding universes: the Avengers, the Fantastic Four from Earth 828, and the returning Fox X-Men cast. It shows how Spider-Man: No Way Home, The Marvels, and Deadpool & Wolverine already proved that dead characters can return as variants. It breaks down Doom's "stolen lives" line, Sue Storm's narration, Franklin Richards and Galactus from First Steps, and the Sentinels Doom raises from the ground, tied back to Days of Future Past. It also recaps the storylines the movie is expected to pick up: Steve Rogers and Peggy Carter, Loki's sacrifice and the Temporal Loom, Wanda and the Darkhold on Mount Wundagore, Doctor Strange and Clea's incursion, Peter Parker's erased memories in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, Sam Wilson as Captain America, the New Avengers from Thunderbolts, and the unsolved Ten Rings signal from Shang-Chi. 🔔 Subscribe for more Marvel breakdowns. #MCU #AvengersDoomsday #MCURecap
