Description

When the mummified body of Remigio Leroy was discovered in Guanajuato, Mexico, its unusual position sparked a disturbing theory. Leroy was a French doctor who lived in Guanajuato and died in 1860. His body was later found in crypt number 214 of the Santa Paula Municipal Cemetery, where the dry climate and soil conditions naturally preserved some bodies as mummies. What made Leroy unusual was the position of his preserved body, which appeared to suggest that he had struggled inside his coffin. This led to the story that he may have been buried alive. However, there is no scientific confirmation that Remigio Leroy was actually buried alive. Today, his remarkably preserved mummy, still wearing a top hat and formal clothing, is among the famous mummies associated with the Museum of the Mummies of Guanajuato. 📸 Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/archevault 📺 Main Channel: @Archevault
